Seeing that picture reminded me of Nigeria, where kids sell water pouches with pride, even on school buses. This is common in many places where child labor is sadly accepted. My main question is: What future awaits a child without education? Simply put, educated kids will learn, while uneducated kids won’t have the same opportunities. An uneducated child might make some money quickly doing simple jobs, which can be exciting for them and the people they depend on. On the other hand, an educated child comes home with schoolwork and bills for school. But, with their education, they can get a good job and maybe even start their own company later on. The educated person often hires the uneducated for jobs like driver or cook, but doesn’t pay them much. Why? Because the educated person focused on learning first, which led to earning later. Don’t skip steps in life! Learn first, then earn. Life has stages, and if you skip a step, you’ll likely face it later. If a child doesn’t have school, clothes, a home, or food, they’re more likely to learn bad behaviors like being naughty, joining gangs, stealing, or causing trouble. Who’s to blame for this? The government? The parents? The child? We usually end up blaming all of them, or some of them Besides schools and other organizations, you and I are also responsible. I was amazed last week when I met a young woman in her early twenties who is trying to get into a Nigerian university. Even though she only earns 30,000 a month, she uses her money to pay the school fees for some younger students. She even sacrifices her own needs, like housing, to help others. These children aren’t even her family! Again, you and I are part of the reason some children are hungry, homeless, and without clothes. Did you show love to children on the last Children’s Day? If you did, great! Maybe you visited an orphanage, bought food and clothes, and gave them to charities and foundations? But you only do it once a year. If everyone else does the same, what happens to these kids? Do you only eat one meal a year? Do you realize that many children around the world die because they don’t have what you take for granted? Don’t they deserve food, a home, good education, and the same things you have? We all need to make a real choice to show love to our future leaders, not just once a year. Giving isn’t about how much you have; it’s a choice. We give to live, and givers always have enough. But to give more, we need to love young people first. You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving. Love is something everyone understands, no matter who they are or where they come from. Love in Nigeria is the same as love anywhere else We should show love with our words and actions. Are there children near you who don’t have food, clothes, or a place to live? What about the kids in your neighborhood, town, or city? Think about the child who wears the same old clothes to church every Sunday, while your child is wearing fancy clothes. It’s not just about showing off; it’s a chance for you to help. If you don’t see any kids like that near you, what about the next street over? There are kids who dropped out of school who need help. Decide to do something today and make a difference. The Bible says children are a gift from God. They are the future of our world! Children are the most precious thing. Let’s take care of them. If they’re the best, let’s give them the best!
